Celebrity chef Mario Batali was in Traverse City yesterday, filming for his new show "The Chew" at the National Cherry Festival.

I have to agree with Batali's assessment of Michigan, as quoted by MLive.com: "It is pure, it is perfect, the water is fresh, it is unsalted and shark free."

Sounds like Batali will spend the next couple months here at his home on the Leelanau Peninsula, so maybe you'll bump into him when you're up north this summer.
