A Beautiful Day For Fishing And A Show

Today's weather for March was nothing less than spectacular! A trip to Grand Rapids for the Ultimate Sport Show proved to be a great day to watch anglers as well.

Grand Rapids 6th Street Dam has long been a destination for steelhead anglers to try and hook into some Michigan chrome as it ascends the Grand River from Lake Michigan for their spawning run.

Stoic anglers wade in the fast moving water or line the banks, while others in boats let lines skip the bottom, hoping to hook into one of the strong salmon known for their acrobatics, leaping as high as three feet out of the water as the try and shake the anglers hook.

Most don't know that the Grand RIver is one of the best rivers in the country for all species of freshwater fish. They drive over it unaware of the amazing opportunities that await them. All the better, I guess. "More fish for me," as a man once said!
