AAA Michigan Predictions for Thanksgiving Travel

Midland will be the destination for my peeps and me this weekend as we celebrate my mom's 80th birthday and Thanksgiving; then it's off to the in-laws for Thanksgiving next week.

Though the 'official' Thanksgiving travel period is Wed-Sunday, AAA Michigan indicates that Tuesday afternoon of next week will be the busiest day on the roads. An estimated 1.6 million of us are expected to travel 50 miles or more for Thanksgiving this year, which is an increase of over 3 percent from last year. Gas prices at this time of year haven't been this high since 2014, but that's not stopping us from hitting the road.
