Ann Arbor Sterilized Dozens of Does to Thin Herd

The city of Ann Arbor has sterilized a reported 54 female deer this winter as part of their deer management program to thin the herd and were to begin culling the herd via sharpshooters this week. I've had friends tell me that they've been stuck in traffic jams leaving University of Michigan football games and the deer will just wander through the vehicles as traffic crawls along.

The City reportedly approved to pay over $150,000.00 to a non-profit conservation group in Connecticut called White Buffalo, Inc, to implement the program.

Made me wonder how one could become a 'sharpshooter' enlisted to help cull the deer herd in places where the population has gotten out of control and found this link here.
