A report from the Los Angeles Times says that Eagles co-founder and Detroit area native Glenn Frey will be honored at Monday's Grammy Awards. Former Eagles band mates Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Bernie Leadon, and Timothy B. Schmit will appear along with
Jackson Browne to pay homage to their late companion by performing "Take It Easy", a song Frey co-wrote with Browne.

Irving Azoff, the longtime manager of the Eagles explained the song choice in the Times article. He was quoted as saying, "We wanted something simple and elegant, and in discussing it with the family, we wanted an uptempo moment." Azoff also The Times that the band was aware that The Academy would do something to honor Frey, and jumped in to do it rather than watching somebody else perform in his honor.

The Grammy Awards will air live on CBS Monday night at 8 PM.
