Nathan Schoenfeld is a 31 year-old father of twins who works at a bank. He was home giving the twins a bath last night and the phone rang. It was the Arizona Coyotes who were in desperate need of an emergency goaltender. Their starter suffered an "off ice" injury and they were without a backup with 2 hours until game time.

They saw Schoenfeld play in their alumni game and thought he had some skill. He is also the son in-law of the Coyotes equipment manager. He is the son of current New York Rangers Assistant General Manager Jim Schoenfeld.

He didn't even play hockey at the college level. He was a goalie on an Arizona State Club team. He made over 6 grand for his time sitting on the Arizona bench and saw no action.
