Former Michigan State head football coach George Perles had his Meridian Township home broken into on September 12th, just hours before Michigan State's game against Oregon.

Some of Perles' valuables were taken by burglars, including 14 bowl rings he accumulated during his tenure at Michigan State.

Perles coached Michigan State from 1983 to 1994, leading the Spartans to the Rose Bowl after the 1987 season.  He was also a defensive coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers during the team's Super Bowl run in the 1970's--Perles said his Super Bowl rings are locked away in a safety deposit box.

Hear Perles talk about the incident with Tim Staudt in the video above.

UPDATE: The Lansing State Journal reports that another longtime MSU Athletic Department employee also had his home burglarized recently -click here for the story.
