In Columbus, Ohio, a scene all too familiar to Lansing residents unfolded. Friday, a Columbus firefighter was struck by a vehicle as he raised funds for Muscular Dystrophy Association's Fill The Boot campaign.  According to WLNS.com, the injured firefighter is in stable condition with a broken leg. Reports say that the firefighter was equipped with safety equipment, including a reflective vest. Columbus FD suspended the campaign which was expected to run through the Labor Day weekend.

It was nearly one year ago that Lansing firefighter Dennis Rodeman was killed while participating in the same event. However, Mr. Rodeman's tragic incident occurred with intention as Grant Taylor is accused of purposely striking him.
