Lansing residents have experienced a couple of sudden power outages since last Wednesday. And, your Lansing Board of Water and Light knows why. According to LSJ.com, BWL officials pin the blame on contractors installing underground communication lines.

BWL investigators noticed that these communication lines were installed along Baker Street near the former Diamond REO site. According to the LSJ story, there is a BWL power distribution line in this same area that appears to have been disrupted by the contractors.

Officials don't expect any other outages from this particular incident. A third outage on June 10 is not related, and still under the scope of investigators.
