Countdown To Turkey Time!

As I looked out my backdoor yesterday, I noticed a large turkey with four hens. I quickly grabbed my camera and mouth call for a little fun. Sending out a few yelps, I got the big Tom to respond with a single gobble and then he proceeded to strut and show off.

This truly one of the reasons I love Michigan. The Spring turkey season starts on Monday April 20th and goes until almost the end of May (see the 2015 hunting guide for full regulations and season dates at www.michigan.gov/dnr). That along with spring walleye on the Detroit River and Steelhead running the other rivers of this amazing State, it's any wonder why I bother to show up for work. Oh wait, it's my job.
