At his weekly press conference Tuesday, Mark Dantonio opened in part with "there's no shortage of storylines for this game" and he's right. It's the Big Ten opener, it's a top-10 matchup (in one poll) and it's the Michigan State hall of fame induction game.

Dantonio also answered questions regarding Michigan State's playcalling that could be described as lax or conservative in the 2nd half of the game against Notre Dame up by almost 30.

Dantonio answers a question with another question after he's asked for the umpteenth time why Michigan State plays so well when experts predict a loss. MSU is 40-5 in their last 45 games.

With those "experts" predicting losses, does that feed the old "chip on the shoulder" MSU is known for?

Dantonio was also asked if the fake PAT had a name like Little Giants.

A more pressing and perhaps recent issue though is the lack of Michigan State-Wisconsin games since the B1G alignment to an east-west format. They used to be some of the best games on the Big Ten schedule.

Make no mistake, Dantonio knows this is a big game, even bigger than last weeks.

As Dantonio continues to talk about grinding and moving the program forward, Dantonio thinks MSU can look a lot like a familiar foe from the SEC, or perhaps something to similar to a current Pac-12 powerhouse.
