My Honey took this pic as I crossed the finish line Saturday in the Race2Freedom 5K in Potterville with a time of 35 minutes, 49 seconds. Like my race number? Thanks to Michael Hammond, Race2Freedom Race Director for making sure I got that number!

I hadn't done a race in a couple years because I don't much love running - I prefer to walk and practice yoga, but I believe it's good to push yourself beyond the comfort zone now and then to show yourself you're tougher than you might think. And this was a cause worth supporting, so I entered the Race2Freedom to raise awareness of the sex trafficking epidemic and raise money for a safe house for victims of the trade. You can learn more here, as well as make donations if you'd like.

Thanks to my friends Lucy Finkel and Sonja Mattson-Barnes for joining the race with me and thanks to My Honey for supporting me Saturday and always.

We'd love to have you join us next year, either as a runner, a walker or a volunteer. Personally, it makes a big difference to have someone along the way cheering you on and reminding you that 'you can do it'!
