Decomposing Corpse Found in Lansing Sewer System

A random sewer check around 10 am this morning at the intersection of Herbert and Wilson streets turned up a decomposing corpse. The body was so decomposed they couldn't determine if it was a male or female. A public service worker made the discovery in a manhole.

Police extracted the decomposing body around noon. They will do an autopsy to determine the cause of death and should have the results within 48 hours.

My mind instantly went to FOUL PLAY HAS TO BE INVOLVED but I watch too much TV. I imagine, the autopsy could rule that out. I don't hear of bodies showing up in manholes everyday in Lansing. this was a first for me.
