WMMQ and Meijer are proud to present the High School Athlete of the Week award to DeWitt Senior Running Back Ben Heinritz. Ben may be the unsung hero of the Panthers' recent success over the last two seasons. Last year's Division 3 State Runner-ups counted on Heinritz to provide an offensive balance alongside CMU-bound QB Jacob Johnson. This season, their leading rusher is at it again. Against arch-rival Haslett, Heinritz tallied 193 yards on 19 carries, and 4 touchdowns. The senior also came up with a huge special teams play in the first quarter, blocking a Haslett punt, scooping up the ball, and returning it 19 yards for another TD. The Panthers will be counting on Heinritz for another great game behind his offensive line as they gear up for another rivalry game tonight against St. Johns...a battle of two undefeated teams playing for pride, and more importantly, a CAAC Red championship.

Congratulations to DeWitt's Ben Heinritz, this week's WMMQ/Meijer High School Athlete of the Week. If you'd like to nominate a student athlete for recognition, follow this link.
