One and dones aren't too common under Tom Izzo, but when you have the talent of Deyonta Davis you get drafted #31 overall to the Boston Celtics in your first year out of college.

Davis will not be a Celtic for long though as reports from the draft say he will be traded to Memphis. The Celtics owned eight of the 60 picks from the 2016 NBA draft.

Davis was ranked 10th on ESPN's big board yet fell to the Celtics/Grizzlies, 21 picks after his projection. His lack of experience would seem to be a big factor in his draft board tumble.

Davis, 19, averaged 7.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.6 blocks a game. Davis shot nearly 60% in his one year at Michigan State. His 64 blocks in his one year are the second most for a single season and a Spartan freshman record.

Davis did all that in just 18.6 minutes per game. He received starter level minutes midway through the season after coming off the bench to start his career in East Lansing.

Davis is the first one and done from Michigan State since Zach Randolph in 2001 (19th overall pick).

His second round selection means he has no guaranteed contract with his new team. Though Davis can look to another former Spartan about the path of a second round pick to NBA all-star. Draymond Green was drafted 35th overall in his draft year, and he still remembers it.
