Donnie Corley, Top-Rated Receiver Recruit, Makes His College Choice Official
About a week after suffering a major loss, Michigan State football scored a major victory.
On Saturday, the Spartans got a verbal commitment from the state of Michigan's No. 1 rated 2016 recruit, Donnie Corley.
The 6-foot-2, 160-pound receiver/defensive back from Detroit Martin Luther King made the announcement during the third quarter of the Army All-American game. Corley said he decided on MSU on Thursday and that he will be an early enrollee, starting classes for the second semester which begins on Tuesday.
Corley said MSU coach Mark Dantonio said he could compete to play both on offense and defense at State, which factored heavily into his decision.
Corley chose the Spartans over three other finalists: Ohio State, Michigan and Tennessee. He is rated among the nation's top wide receivers by all major recruiting services.
