No one rides for free.

A Virginia man racked up a $200,000 bill for failing to pay any tolls.

Jason Bourcier rode the Dulles Toll Road every day for three-and-a-half years, but had been told by a friend that if no workers were in a toll booth after 11:30, he didn’t have to pay.

That awful advice turned out to be a huge mistake.

Bourcier, 33, wound up skipping out on $440 on tolls, but his bill ballooned to more than $200,000 because of late fees and interest.

Bourcier and the Virginia Department of Transportation have since reached a settlement, in which he has to pay $40,000 for the missed tolls, along with $55,000 in interest. He’ll fork over about $150 a month, which means he should pay off his debt in about 44 years.

Hmm, wonder if he and his friend still talk.
