Prior to his days of reality TV and building a multi-million dollar outdoor enterprise, Duck Commander founder Phil Robertson was a heralded college football quarterback at Louisiana Tech. In fact, Robertson started for the Bulldogs over future Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw. Those who watch Duck Dynasty on A&E are well aware of how big of a sports family the Robertsons truly are, with episodes featuring NASCAR driver Clint Bowyer and also the family project of constructing a football field on their acreage.

With Duck Commander fever hitting unbelievable heights, it comes as no surprise that The Robertsons have thrown their company name into the lucrative world of sporting event sponsorship. News came earlier this month of the multi-year commitment for Duck Commander to be the title sponsor for the next three spring NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races at Texas Motor Speedway. Now, DC is digging into its founder's roots by sponsoring a College Football bowl game in Shreveport, LA for the next six seasons. The Duck Commander Independence Bowl is slated to feature teams from the SEC and ACC, the two conferences with the biggest followings in the southeast.

Are you a Duck Dynasty fan? Has Duck Commander fever reach uncontrollable proportions? Or, is this a fad that, too, will pass by soon?
