Earlier this week, it was reported that Walnut Hills Country Club may wrap up operations after an effort by its members to raise operating funds fell short of its goals. And while the club's future remains uncertain, a report in Friday's Lansing State Journal says the club is ready to host outings, events, and wedding parties.

According to the story, a member of a former club ownership group that defaulted on its loan for the property and a local wedding planner have signed a five-year agreement to keep Walnut Hills open for private parties and events. The representative from the former ownership group also said an agreement with the Metro Detroit development group that purchased the defaulted property last year does allow Walnut Hills to open for golf operations, or to sublease to an outside course operator.

Where this all leads to in the future of the near-century old country club is still unknown. But, if you booked your wedding or event at Walnut Hills this summer, at least that looks promising for you.
