WLNS.com is reporting this afternoon that Eaton County Sheriff Tom Reich has been named in a Personal Protection Order filed by Brenda Cleeves-Reich. The petition was filed in Eaton County Tuesday.

WLNS reports that the Eaton County Clerk says the couple is going through a divorce. No other information is currently available, other than a judge is currently reviewing the petition.

UPDATE: The Lansing State Journal reports more details on this story. Apparently, Michigan State Police troopers responded to the Reich home on Monday night after Cleeves-Reich called from a Charlotte hotel parking lot. Her report indicates that the sheriff went into a rage and started throwing packing her belongings "without respect", and that the mention of guns was involved. Sheriff Reich's attorney says the petition is "three pages of fiction", citing Cleeves-Reich's desire to wieght divorce proceedings to her favor. Reich's attorney also said the petition is politically motivated, as Reich faces re-election this November.
