In July, a Coalition for a Safer East Lansing turned in petition signatures, looking to put a ballot proposal in front of East Lansing voters. According to an article at lsj.com, the petition signatures were verified today by East Lansing City Clerk Marie Wicks. The Coalition for a Safer East Lansing, spearheaded by East Lansing attorney Jeffrey Hank, was hoping to have the proposal put forth to voters this November. If voters approve the measure, it would repeal the city's current pot laws, and allow those 21 and older to possess, use, and transfer up to one ounce of weed on private property.
