We're as shocked as you are given the competition but, for the second consecutive month, Rod Stewart has knocked off Led Zeppelin in the finals of the Ultimate Classic Rock Hall of Fame, as the Faces took with 57 percent of the vote. With the win, Stewart joins George Harrison as the only two-time inductee into the Hall of Fame, while Zep gets a third and final chance at induction.

The Faces grew out of the Small Faces, the R&B-loving-mod-turned-psychedelic British band of the mid-60s. When frontman Steve Marriott left the group to form Humble Pie in 1969, the remaining members - Kenney Jones, Ronnie Lane and Ian McLagan - recruited Rod Stewart and Ron Wood, who were unhappy with their role in the Jeff Beck Group.

Removing the "Small" from their name, the Faces proceeded to go on a six-year run of decadence, complete with booze, sex, booze, drugs and booze. Oh, and did we mention booze? Hell, they even had a bar on stage with them.

Somehow, they managed to be prolific, releasing four albums between 1970's 'First Step' and 1973's 'Ooh La La,' and backing Stewart - either in part or in full - on many of the songs he cut for his concurrent solo career. Those records are a perfect template bloozy rock that turned the Black Crowes and the Georgia Satellites into hitmakers a generation later.

Frustrated with only getting a few songs per album, Lane departed in 1973. After that, they released only one album, a live record with new bassist Tetsu Yamauchi, and a cheekily named funk/disco single called 'You Can Make Me Dance, Sing or Anything (Even Take the Dog for a Walk, Mend a Fuse, Fold Away the Ironing Board, or Any Other Domestic Shortcomings).' They called it quits a year later, which paved the way for Wood to join the Rolling Stones.

The band - minus Stewart and Lane, who died in 1997 - reunited in 2010 for a handful of European dates with Mick Hucknall of Simply Red on vocals and former Sex Pistol Glen Matlock on bass. Back in May, Stewart said that he is willing to commit to a proper reunion when Wood is finished with his current commitments to the Stones.
