Former Michigan State basketball great Mateen Cleaves was exonerated on Tuesday afternoon of multiple criminal sexual conduct charges against him that have dogged the former Spartan and NBA player for four years.

This stems from an alleged incident that occurred after a golf outing in September of 2015 in the Flint area.

Cleaves originally had the charges dropped against him three years ago, but they were reinstated on appeal by the prosecution in the case.

Mateen was a star at Michigan State from 1996-2000 and was the keystone member of the 2000 National Championship team before embarking on an NBA career.
