General Motors has announced the recall of 290,000 Chevrolet Impalas. According to WLNS.com, the recall is for 2009 and 2010 Impalas whose airbags may not inflate upon impact. The report says GM included the malfunction in government documents, citing the error is due to pressure caused by the front passenger seat frame onto an airbag sensor wire. This may cause gauges to not work. The automaker will fix the problem with anti-abrasion tape.
