Going Nuts: Squirrels in the Crawlspace

I started feeding the deer a few weeks ago and noticed a family of squirrels gathering around the feeding tray. I thought they were so cute at first. Then, one day I startled them and watched them run up a tree to my roof and into one of my vents. When I went inside, I heard them digging in the walls doing god knows how much damage. I went into the crawl space and sure enough, they had chewed through the metal screens of the vents and squeezed into the house.

All night Monday, I heard them clawing at the wall, right beside my head. Needless to say, I didn't get a lot of sleep. I woke up Tuesday ready for war. Called my buddy Dave to help me try to eliminate the problem. We sat for hours without seeing one. My buddy Joe brought me over a live trap and at 1 am Wednesday morning, I claimed my first victim. The trap food was peanut butter and peanuts. I was elated. Now just 4 or 5 more to go.

Today I am getting new screens for the vents. Top and bottom. The trap has been reset. Check your vents and don't let the squirrels dive you nuts. What is the craziest critter that has gotten into your house?
