WLNS.com is reporting some good news for Mid-Michigan residents who are falling behind on their home heating bills. Consumers Energy and United Way are teamed up for the Consumers Affordable Resource for Energy program (CARE). CARE helps customers who have fallen behind on their bill payments to keep the heat flowing this winter, and to improve energy efficiency within the home.

Residents of 20 counties are eligible for the assistance. But, residents and customers must meet certain criteria: an income equal or less than 150% of the Federal Poverty Level and have a Consumers Energy past due account less than $2000.
