MLive.com reported on the closing of stores announced by retailer JCPenney. And, while there will be some Michigan locations closing, the Lansing area will see both of its stores remain open.

According to the MLive.com article, JCPenney plans on closing 138 stores nationwide, seven in Michigan. But, Lansing Mall and Meridian Mall locations are not on the chopping block. Of the seven Michigan store closures, four are in the Upper Peninsula.

Our friends in Cereal City will have to find a new JCPenney store, though. The Lakeview Square Mall location in Battle Creek will be among the stores to close. Locations in Holland and Midland will also shutter.
