Joey Pants Meets Mickey Redmond!

I had a blast announcing at the Spartan Alumni vs Red Wing Alumni game yesterday at Munn Ice Arena. Kevin Miller did a great job and raised money for 211 United and the Steadfast Foundations. Former Red Wings Darren McCarty, Mike Knuble. Petr Klima and Mickey Redmond laced up the skates and got some of the loudest cheers. MSU won in a shootout 9-8.

Darren McCarty was hilarious and drew your eye whenever he was on the ice, he scored the games first goal and gave the games first stick spanking. Williamston U.S. Figure Skater Hannah Miller performed in between periods.

Red Wing greats signed autographs, as did MSU Captain Michael Ferrantino, Assistant Captains Travis Walsh and Joe Cox, Justin Hoomaian and SHOULD BE Big 10 Player of the Year Goalie Jake Hildebrand.

When I first arrived in the locker room, one of the first faces I saw was that of Mickey Redmond. He was wearing his red one-piece long underwear (union suit) and I walked right up to him and asked if I could take our picture. Being the AWESOME human being Mickey is, he said "of course! You want a picture of me in my underwear? I would have taken that picture if he was in his birthday suit. "Holy Jumpin'!" "Bingo-Bango!"

He is cool in person as he is on the tv. It was an honor to meet him.

Slick Mickey almost "put the button in the pocket" twice.
