Former Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley has revealed that he and original drummer Peter Criss will not be joining their former bandmates on stage during April's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

"I don't think Kiss fans are gonna be too excited and happy about the news, 'cause at this juncture, Paul [Stanley] and Gene [Simmons] have decided to perform with [current members] Tommy [Thayer] and Eric [Singer], and it looks like the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame is going along with it," Frehley told Q104.3 radio host Eddie Trunk last night, according to Blabbermouth.

Frehley went on to explain that he revealed the news now so fans wouldn't buy tickets for the ceremony thinking they would see the group's '70s lineup together. In fact, he said he's not even sure he's going: "If I'm not gonna put on the makeup and do a three-song reunion for the fans, then what am I gonna do? And right now I'm not even sure if I'm gonna show up for that, you know?!"

When asked why Stanley and Simmons -- the group's only two original members, with Thayer and Singer on board since 2002 and 2004 respectively -- reportedly shot down the original lineup reunion, Frehley said "I don't know, and at this point, I really don't give a s---. I really don't care. It's, like, enough already. You don't wanna do something for the fans after 40 years of them supporting you?"

When news of the group's induction broke in December, Frehley, Simmons and Stanley all expressed some interest in a one-off reunion. However Frehley quickly declared that he was unwilling to perform in the band's famous makeup if Thayer would be doing the same thing.

A few weeks later, Stanley tweeted that a reunion seemed "unlikely," and two weeks ago he blasted the "tainted, corrupted and distorted" Hall of Fame for being unwilling to discuss inducting anybody but the four original members of Kiss. "It was shut down immediately as ‘a non starter,’ which to me is arrogant," he told Classic Rock. "The fact that there are 30 or 40 or 50 or some absurd number of Grateful Dead members all inducted, the fact that all of the [Red Hot] Chili Peppers, including people who played on early albums that never amounted to very much are inducted, the fact that John Rutsey, the drummer on the first Rush album is not inducted, the fact that Rob Trujillo, who’s a great guy but didn’t play on any of the classic Metallica albums, was inducted after being in the band six years makes me wonder exactly what are the rules? If the rules don’t apply to everybody then they’re not rules."

Counting a five-year stint at the start of the '90s, drummer Eric Singer has been in Kiss for over 15 years now. Thayer, former guitarist Bruce Kulick and the group's second drummer, Eric Carr, all were or have been in the band for over 10 years.

As of the very early hour of this posting, Simmons, Stanley or Criss have not offered any official response to Frehley's revelation, although the 'God of Twitter' did have the following exchange with a critical fan a few hours ago:
