Yesterday's bitter cold temperature in Lansing broke the record set back in the 1800s. The Lansing State Journal has the particulars here of just how cold it was officially. Frankly, I kind of prefer to NOT know and think that it's warmer than reality. Not my first delusional thought.

Mercifully, it doesn't appear that we will be breaking any records for low temps today in Lansing. WILX TV10's almanac says that the record cold for this day was set in 1866 when it fell to -22 degrees. Long before programmable thermostats could warm up the house before we got home.
