Last week, Lansing Catholic High School held a ceremony to break ground on a new athletic facility that will include a new football stadium and track. It is part of an extensive  to the school's facilities that also will include new soccer, baseball, and softball fields. The school also plans on building a brand new indoor athletic facility in the coming years, with the goal for completion set for 2020.

In recent years, Lansing Catholic had hosted one Saturday game at home for homecoming. The "Rock Pile" is expected to be replaced with a plush new field in time for the 2016 football season in August. For decades, Lansing Catholic has played the majority of its home games at other sites around the area, most recently at Holt Junior High School's Troost Field.

In years past there had been efforts made to fund a joint stadium project for Catholic and Lansing Eastern High School. After those efforts failed, Lansing Catholic finally raised the necessary funds for their own project. As for Lansing Eastern, they, too, could see a new facility if voters approve an upcoming bond proposal that would, in part, transition Pattengill Middle School into a new Lansing Eastern campus.
