The Lansing State Journal is reporting that the Lansing School District has settled out of court with two former students that filed two separate civil lawsuits against the district after being sexually assaulted on Eastern High School grounds. One incident reportedly occurred in a stairwell at the school, another near a maintenance building just outside the school.

According to the LSJ report, one settlement of $180,000 was agreed to in March. A second lawsuit was reportedly settled this week for $225,000. Both plaintiffs were represented by the same lawyer. The lawsuits allege that the school district failed to comply with Federal Title IX laws

A s far as criminal charges are concerned, one case remains under investigation.
