Get your snow shovels back out! After almost a week of talk, speculation, and maybe-maybe nots, it looks like Lansing is in for another good round of winter weather and snowfall. But, now, National Weather Service meteorologists are quite confident how much snow will fall in our region.

A Winter Weather Advisory goes into effect tonight at 10:00pm through Wednesday morning at 1:00am. A mix of precipitation turns into all snow overnight, with the heaviest of the snowfall expected early Tuesday morning in time for the commute. NWS expects 3 to 6 inches of snow to fall across the middle section of the Lower Peninsula, with heaviest snowfall totals along and near I-96. According to my mental map, that puts us right in line for the worst of it.

Gusty winds will also be an issue during the advisory, blowing a lighter snow than last week onto the roadways through Wednesday morning.
