This past weekend, my dear friend Carmen Hall of Lansing headed to Michigan's northern glory to celebrate the birthday of her friend Angela Matelski. Among the planned festivities was a customary trip to Black Bear Golf Club in Vanderbilt.

Saturday morning, the foursome hit the links; on the second hole, Carmen picked up her 6 iron from 138 yards and "swung for money"; they all saw her ball roll into the cup. She says, "they started screaming at the top of their lungs" and  everyone dropped their clubs and came running up to her to celebrate. "It was crazy! I was shocked! It's an amazing experience and feeling."

True to her nature, Carmen joked with her friends afterwards that they should call her "Ace" Hall from now on. Go ahead, say 'Ace Hall' really quickly a few times. Yes, that's what it sounds like.

My most significant claim to sports fame was a grand slam home run in a little league softball game. You?
