This weekend's forecast may pack a winter punch for us in Mid-Michigan. According to The Lansing State Journal, National Weather Service meteorologists anticipate a fairly major snow event Sunday.

While light snow showers are possible Friday night and through Saturday, accumulations aren't expected to begin piling up until a storm system hits the mitten late Saturday night and early Sunday morning. By the time the system leaves Mid-Michigan Monday morning, we could see a total of 4 to 6 inches of snow. The good news is, wind speeds are only supposed to be around 10-15 miles per hour...good news in terms of blowing and drifting. However, bitterly cold temperatures are expected in the following days next week.

Be sure to tune into Deb and Joey Monday morning, and monitor wmmq.com for any potential school closings on Monday.
