A friend posted this on Facebook late yesterday:

Setting aside the "it's annoying!" vs "but it's legal!" arguments, and ignoring the issues of puppies, babies, morning jobs and vets with PTSD ... exactly when did fireworks on Memorial Day become a thing? It used to be about quiet reflection and remembrance. You're kidding yourself if you think you're honoring anyone by blowing crap up all night.

Plenty of the comments made on his page seemed to agree with his perspective and many said that it was LOUD in their neighborhoods last night. A couple of our neighbors were lighting up pyrotechnics before dark, but I don't recall hearing anything late into the evening.
