Ludington has officially made it into the record books. According to WLNS.com, the Guinness Book of World Records has officially named the city's House of Flavors restaurant and parlor as the world record holder for the biggest ice cream sundae to have been eaten.

Back in June, the sundae, which measured in at over 2,970 feet was finished, breaking the world record sundae of 1,957 feet and one inch. That was set in New Zealand back in 2015.

The roughly half-mile long sundae may not be in the books for too long. The WLNS report cites an MLive story about Nashville Michigan's Moo-Ville parlor attempting its own record with a 3,656 foot sundae last month. Moo-Ville reportedly held the record prior to the New Zealand record in 2015.
