Michigan’s medical marijuana board will meet today to hammer out a plan for state dispensaries that are technically operating illegally – what the board determines today might shut down up to 250 dispensaries in the state through the end of the year, starting tomorrow.

The dispensaries will be able to apply for ‘official licensing’ in mid-December, complying with the new regulatory system. At last glance, the board seemed divided over closing existing dispensaries through year-end, which would leave patients and business owners in the lurch. We’ll see what they deem today.
