If you're looking for a fireworks show to ring in 2017, Meridian Township has exactly what you're looking for. Due to dry conditions around Independence Day last summer, township officials decided to postpone their annual display until New Year's Eve.

According to WLNS.com, this turns out to be quite convenient for Meridian Township as it gets ready to celebrate its 175th Anniversary. The fireworks show is expected to begin around 6:45 PM Saturday with a lighted ball drop a part of the party, too. There is also a locally produced movie debuting at Studio C, outside of Meridian Mall, focusing on the history of the township.
