This weekend looks to be a perfect weekend to do some boating in the Great Lakes State. but, according to a report from WLNS, you may want to leave the alcoholic beverages on shore. Police officials and officers from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources are on the hunt for drunken boat operators. Whether you're on an inland lake, river, or stream, or navigating the big lakes that surround our peninsulas, they'll be looking.

Last year, Michigan law changed when it comes to the legal limit of alcohol while operating a watercraft. The legal limit is now congruent with motor vehicle laws: .08 BAC is legally drunk. Anyone under 21 with any amount of alcohol in their system while operating a watercraft will face charges as well.
