Even more are on the way! More than 300 are expected to arrive between July and September. Governor Rick Snyder said he wants to stop Syrian refugees from settling in Michigan but that hasn't worked out so well for him.

Why Michigan? Because of the strength of Metro Detroit’s Arabic community. “I’m not surprised Michigan has the most Syrian refugees, Historically, refugees go where there are networks of their people already in place. Because of the significant Middle Eastern population already in Michigan, it’s logical refugees from the Middle East would come here.”
