Michigan Morels and Other Bounty from the Weekend

My brother Mark was fishing in Michigan's Upper Peninsula over the weekend with his pals and caught their limit of Brook Trout, pictured above. He says they also found some beefsteak mushrooms, too - living off the land in the wilds of the UP!

Friday my brother-in-law Chris caught the pictured small-mouth Bass and released it back into the Chippewa River in Midland. The morels pictured on the white counter-top were gathered in Michigan by a friend of his - the morels pictured on the black counter-top were gathered from MY BACKYARD! My nephew Aiden, who will be 13 years old this week, found them while he was 'surveying the property'. I can't recall if that was before or after I mopped the floor with him in air hockey.

I've been practicing since my match with Joey Pants last year.
