Michigan State Introduces Class of 2017

As the furor around National Signing Day ends, Michigan State head football coach Mark Dantonio had a press conference on Tuesday to officially introduce the newest Spartans into the program.

Mark Dantonio had a special treat for those in attendance, as he talked about each player he would put on a hat from their high school program. He talked about all 25 players on the program (21 scholarship and four preferred walk-on) You can check details on the individual scholarship players here.

Dantonio lauded how proud he was of his guys that stuck with the process and their commitment to Michigan State and never wavered.

Dantonio also got a chance to break some news mid-press conference as one more recruit had officially decided and turned in his paperwork while the head coach was speaking. Cornerback Emmanuel Flowers from Chino, CA announced he was coming to MSU.

Dantonio looked to other athletic administrators to confirm he could comment, also commenting how he was stalling to see if they could squeeze him in to the mentions with all the other incoming freshmen.

Michigan State's three early enrollees were also available once Dantonio stepped down from the podium. WR Hunter Rison, TE Jack Camper and DB Josiah Scott all had their first appearances in the media spotlight.

Michigan State's signing class was missing a player, as news surfaced earlier today that defensive end Donovan Winter had been arrested earlier in the week and did not sign his National Letter of Intent at this time. Dantonio could not comment on him per NCAA rules but he was asked about similarities to Auston Robertson who was in legal trouble around signing day last year.

"That's last year's news" Dantonio said.

Robertson would eventually work out his legal issues and joined the team last season.

Another National Signing Day in the books, the Spartans now look ahead to practices their annual Green-White Spring game. That game's date is to be announced.
