WILX.com is reporting that the Michigan State Police are ready to increase patrols this holiday weekend for Operation C.A.R.E.

There will be an increased police presence on state roads and highways over the Thanksgiving weekend as troopers target impaired, careless, and distracted drivers as well as speeders and those not wearing seat belts.

According to the report, the 2017 Thanksgiving weekend resulted in 11 road fatalities, six of which involved alcohol. Two fatalities were pedestrians.
