One of two victims transported to Sparrow Hospital after a Friday evening shooting in the Cedar Village Apartments complex near Michigan State University has died, the East Lansing Police Department said.

Dominique James "DJ" Nolff, a 20-year-old Michigan State University student from Middleville, was pronounced dead at 9:23 a.m. this morning resulting from multiple gunshot wounds, according to police and Sparrow Hospital officials.

The second victim, a 20-year-old MSU student from Grand Haven, was treated for a single gunshot wound and has been released from the hospital, authorities said.

The suspect in the shooting remains at-large, according to East Lansing police.

On Friday night, East Lansing police responded to a reported shooting at 8:48 p.m. at the Cedar Village apartments, located in the 200 block of Cedar Street.

When police arrived, they found the two victims with gunshot wounds in the apartment. Both were taken immediately to the hospital.

The suspect, who has been described as a 20- to 25-year-old man, was still at-large on Saturday afternoon.

East Lansing police believe the shooting was not "a random act," according to a news release.
