WLNS.com is reporting good news for a good man. Dr. Jan Pol, veterinarian from the Mount Pleasant area, had his name cleared from accusations of misconduct. Dr. Pol has a long-running reality show on Nat Geo Wild that follows his work at his clinic outside of Beal City, just northwest of Mount Pleasant proper. On an episode, Dr. Pol saved the life of a Boston Terrier named Mr. Pigglesworth after the dog was hit by a car.

Pol's method of operation upset a viewer. Apparently, Pol didn't wear a mask, or provide IV therapy during the emergency surgery. For that, Pol was placed on probation and fined $500, but was cleared of the misconduct charges. According to the story, the Michigan Court of Appeals was put off by the fact that Pol faced any scrutiny at all.
