WLNS.com is reporting that Michigan State University Board of Trustees members held a closed door meeting today, where board members officially requested an investigation from the office of Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette to look into the university's handling of the scandal involving former MSU physician Dr. Larry Nassar.

In a letter drafted to Schuette, board members stated that they are confident that police investigations and an internal investigation that turned up no wrongdoings by any current member of MSU administration or university employees. But, the request was made by the trustees to satisfy the court of public opinion. MSU President Lou Anna K. Simon also supports the request for an investigation from the Attorney General's office.
