When Ken Dawson retires from Michigan State University at the age of 65 this coming spring, he plans to begin a 3,100 mile trek across the Continental Divide from Mexico to Canada. It will cost about $10,000 out of his pocket, but his goal is to raise money and awareness for 'Big City Mountaineers', an organization that gets kids from the out into the wilderness. Most of those kids rarely leave their neighborhoods, so this is a powerful, life-changing experience for them.
