Nassar Sentencing Hearings Begin In Ingham County

The sentencing of Dr. Larry Nassar began Tuesday in an Ingham County courtroom.

Nassar, who has pleaded guilty to first degree first degree criminal sexual assault, will hear statements from 98 of the 125 females that have come forward as victims of Nassar. Those statements began today, and are expected to continue throughout the week prior to sentencing. Multiple media outlets are sharing these courageous comments VIA social media.

Nassar has already been sentenced to 60 years in prison on Federal child pornogralphy charges. Prosecutors are now seeking a sentence of 125 years for the sexual assault charges. The number of years is symbolic of the number of victims to have come forward.
