A new report that surfaced today pretty much confirms what we have all known for a long time: Michigan loves beer. According to an article at freep.com the Beer Institute and the National Beer Wholesalers Association says the beer industry has a $6.6 billion impact on the state's economy.

The industry is responsible for over 35,000 direct jobs in Michigan, and generates more than $1.5 billion dollars in tax revenues. The more than 35,000 workers: brewers, wholesalers, and retailers earn more than $1 billion. Those impressive numbers rank Michigan 8th in jobs; 14th in economic output. The article points out that California...shocker...is number one in both categories.

Drink up, Johnny!! It's your civic duty!
